Zur Erreichung der internen CO2-Ziele und zur Schaffung von Transparenz im Druckluftmanagement wurde die Firma WRS Energie + Druckluft GmbH mit der Analyse der Druckluftversorgung beauftragt. Ziel war es Transparenz im Druckluftmanagement zu schaffen, um Druckverluste zu eliminieren und den Energieverbrauch der Kompressoren zu optimieren und reduzieren.

Adient is a global supplier of car seats. Adient employs over 86,000 people worldwide. The company is headquartered in Dublin. There are 15 locations in Germany alone.

Many people are familiar with compressed air as a widely used and established energy source in industry. It is common knowledge that there is considerable potential for savings in compressed air technology and that leaks in particular are costly energy wasters. But how and where should you start? For this reason, Adient has successfully commissioned WRS to tackle this challenge.

33% savings potential realized
WRS’s potential analysis made it possible to transparently determine the current status quo. The result was clear: there was an economic savings potential of 33%! By reducing the pressure level and eliminating leakage losses, less energy will be used for compressed air in future.

Perfectly equipped for the future
Not only the compressors are monitored; the refrigeration dryer is also monitored via a pressure dew point. A possible defect in the refrigeration dryer is not only detected when it is too late and it is dripping from the line. In the next step, the compressed air requirement of the individual machines is recorded. This allows leakage losses to be localized. The individual cost centers can be clearly accounted for through reporting.

AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY

Schweizer GmbH Präzisions-Motorenteile manufactures precision parts for combustion engines and vehicle steering systems in series production. Compressed air is an important and indispensable energy source for this. Compressed air had to be examined more closely for the annual energy audit. With the WRS Energie system, the energy status of the system is now evaluated with quarterly monitoring reports. Possible savings are identified and economically evaluated. WRS Energie’s analysis revealed that the moisture content of the compressed air was too high. Possible consequences are corrosion and damage to machines. The recommendations of WRS were implemented by the managing director Mr. Schweizer. The moisture content is now back in the green range and is continuously monitored.

METAL INDUSTRY

Mastel Aluminium-Halbzeuge GmbH has expertise in the procurement, cutting, storage, logistics and delivery of semi-finished aluminum and brass products in the desired form. Compressed air as an energy source offers great potential for savings. However, recognizing and exploiting this potential requires sound specialist knowledge, experience and a simple way of recording measurement data. Experienced production manager Sebastian Rauch commissioned WRS Energie to do this. “The installation of the measurement technology went smoothly and quickly,” reports Rauch.
The result speaks for itself: with a savings potential of 54%, the costs for compressed air can be reduced by several tens of thousands of euros. “We didn’t expect these results. We are very satisfied.“
